Metropolis
Welcome

Greetings

Metropolis is a fun band playing Classic Rock with some Funk and Dance. Our repertoire is designed to make people dance, have a great time and be involved in the music. We are all accomplished and experienced musicians and performers, and it is our joy to ROCK you!! We invite you to come out and have fun with us....

We do recommend calling the club ahead of time just in case of the rare occurence of a last minute schedule change.

Upcoming events

  • Metropolis at The Mutineer With New Songs
  • The Mutineer Restauraunt: 11 S.E. 1st Ave., Florida City, Florida (MAP)
  • We gots ourselves some new kick ass songs! We want to try them on you. Where..... A nice warm, comfortable and friendly well established landmark at the southern end of the Turnpike. Nice sized dancefloor, full bar, and they a have a disco ball. Granted, it's a very small, rather pathetic little disco ball, but there it is perched at the ceiling, doing it's thing, sprinkling dance inspiration upon all the dancers. We always have fun at The Mutineer, so we invite you to come share in that fun. We may have special guests sitting in. I'm not allowed to mention Eric Clapton's name due to a nondisclosure agreement, so I cannot tell you who it is. The Mutineer is located on the S.E. corner of US1 and Palm drive in Florida City just south of where the Turnpike ends onto US1. We paly from 9pm to 1am. The number there is (305) 245-3377. We hope 2 C U there!

  • A nice warm well established landmark at the southern end of the Turnpike. Nice sized dancefloor, full bar, and they a have a world famous munchkin disco ball. Although it's a very small disco ball, perched at the ceiling, it is famous for sprinkling dance inspiration upon all, even staunch non-dansers, making them dancers. We always have fun at The Mutineer, so we invite you to come share in that fun. We have been rehearsing with a shiny new keyboard player (Arthur is still in the family) and we want to show off our new band chemistry and groove factor. The Mutineer is located on the S.E. corner of US1 and Palm drive in Florida City just south of where the Turnpike ends onto US1. We play from 9pm until 1am. The number there is (305) 245-3377. P.S. Thanks to all who came out to Little Hoolies last Saturday!

  • Saturday, April 24
  • Party With Us At Little Hoolies
  • Little Hoolie's: 13135 S.W. 89th Place, South Miami, Florida (MAP)
  • Saturday April 24th from 10:00PM to 2:00AM

Little Hoolies is a thriving, surviving live music landmark located next to The Outback Steak House - and FINALLY! The age old question of "cows can't really live in the outback, can they?" HAS BEEN ANSWERED with a question. "They can't live out front now can they?" (thanks to Sluria for ending this redundantly repetative constantly recurring question!) -  in the Briar Bay Shopping Plaza across the street from The Falls. The number there is (305) 252-9155. We play from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am. Please come on out and dance or just hang and drag some friends with you. We want to pack the place and show them how we do it. More new material (I really like Hella Good by No Doubt, a fun song to play and dance to)!

  • Friday, April 9
  • Friday Night At Scullys
  • Scully's Tavern: 9809 S.W. 72nd Street, South Miami, Florida (MAP)

  • Scully's is like a second home for us, a fun place for us to play and they have really good food. They were featured on The Food Network. If you haven't been there, you're missing a really friendly local bar, like it was in Ireland without the Irish accents. On Sunset Drive just west of 97th Ave. We hope you can come out and join us! . We play from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am. The number there is (305) 271-7404. We hope to see you, your neighbors, their cousins, and their neighbor's cousins there! They also have rooftop parking, right over the stage, so if you have a really heavy car or a tank or something.......please park downstairs!

  • Friday, March 26
  • Little Hoolies This Friday!
  • Little Hoolie's: 13135 S.W. 89th Place, South Miami, Florida (MAP)
  • We make our triumphant return to Little Hoolies on the coveted Friday night spot sporting our new line up. Little Hoolies is a thriving, surviving live music landmark located next to The Outback Steak House (No one has yet answered this important question: cows can't really live in the outback, can they?) in the Briar Bay Shopping Plaza across the street from The Falls. We are returning with our newest Metropolitans, Andres Mora on bass and vocals (from the famous Columbian rock band Kronos) and of course Erica "Little Cuda" McKenna on lead vocals and DO WE EVER HAVE SOME NEW SONGS FOR YOU! Zeppelin, Kansas, Journey, Heart and whole lot more! We are psyched to be expanding our repitoire so quickly! The number at Little Hoolie's is (305) 252-9155. We play from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. It's gonna be wild! We really need to have a strong turn out to keep this fragile thing called LIVE MUSIC alive! So please come out and drag some friends with you, we really appreciate you! We hope 2 C U there!
  • Saturday, March 6
  • Metropolis at Scully's Saturday
  • Scully's Tavern: 9809 S.W. 72nd Street, South Miami, Florida (MAP)
  • With our long time comrade Carlos Averhoff deciding to retire after 30 years or so of playing local clubs, we bid him a fond farewell with best wishes. So, we will be unveiling a shiny new bass player this coming Saturday (and he GROOVES). We have been rehearsing and will be taking a little time soon to be expanding our repertoire even further. We have a new exciting chemistry which is always a fun thing. As we've said many times before, Scully's is a real warm and fun place for us to play and they have really good food. They were featured on The Food Network. It has that great friendly neighborhood bar feel, like it was in Ireland or something (but no Irish accents). A full bar and a long Mahogany bar at that, plus they have been keeping live music going for so many years, they deserve kudos. On Sunset Drive just west of 97th Ave. We hope you can come out and join us! . We play from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am. The number there is (305) 271-7404.  COME CHECK OUT THE NEW LINE-UP!!!
