With our long time comrade Carlos Averhoff deciding to retire after 30 years or so of playing local clubs, we bid him a fond farewell with best wishes. So, we will be unveiling a shiny new bass player this coming Saturday (and he GROOVES). We have been rehearsing and will be taking a little time soon to be expanding our repertoire even further. A nice warm well established landmark at the southern end of the Turnpike. Nice sized dancefloor, full bar, and they a have a disco ball. Granted, it's a very small disco ball, but there it is perched at the ceiling, sprinkling dance inspiration upon all the dancers. We always have fun at The Mutineer, so we invite you to come share in that fun. Since George is on yet another covert operation for the PTA, our good friend and alumni Mario Carvajall will be playing drums with us. We will also have a guest singer. On Sunset Drive just west of 97th Ave. Our long time good friend Mario Carvajal will be filling in on drums while George is on assignment in the Baltic Nations for some top secret CIA, NSA, FBI and PTA operations. Spend a nice cool evening with us at the beautiful Schnebly Winery out in the Redlands. There will NOT be a steel drum player (thanks Guido). Listen to the waterfalls (when we're not playing) while you sample fine wines made from exotic tropical fruits. There will be great food too. A lot of people don't know there is a beautiful winery right in south Dade and many have never had the pleasure, but it's here and it's great and we'll be rocking under the GIANT Tiki Hut in the nice cool air. Our selection of songs for the night will have a fruity nose, velvety legs, a hint of wild elderberries and chocolate with a distinct yet subtle oaky tannin finish. Perfect for dancing with other human beings. But seriously this weekend we will be playing from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Have a nice dinner with wine and still have time to go do other things, even see another band at another venue. There is a $5.00 cover charge. The number at the winery is 305 242 1224. You don't have to get dressed up, but getting dressed is recommended. We hope to see you there.

Free Concert In The Park

We will be the headliner act for a free concert in the ampitheater in downtown Homestead. Our opening acts will include Deep Purple, The Led Zepplin Reunion and the Rolling Stones unplugged stealth show. OK, I lied. Our opening acts will be young bands from Music Depot, Homestead/Florida City's own music store where I, Scott, teach guitar. It's a great program where kids and young adults form bands, rehearse and perform on a big stage with concert sound and lights.
